John J. Domagalski is the author of Lost at Guadalcanal published by McFarland & Company. The book tells the World War II story of two American warships sunk in the South Pacific during the Guadalcanal campaign from the perspective of the sailors who were aboard the vessels.

His interest in history began at an early age and eventually focused on the Pacific side of World War II. His writing career began with a magazine article in 2006. A member of the United States Naval Institute, he has interviewed almost fifty naval veterans who served in the South Pacific during World War II. His articles have appeared in World War II History and World War II Quarterly magazines. He resides in the Chicago area.
